Shadows have crept into the world and darkness lingers on every lip. Many kingdoms, once great, have fallen into anarchy. Only two formal kingdoms of man remain. Dragon riders have disowned any allegiance to man, the elves have hidden themselves from man’s reach, the dwarves hide in their caves and wild, uncontrolled magical creatures roam the darkness of the world. Man remains weak and most kingdoms must fight off the threat of magical creatures and rouge men alike. Samarid is the only nation to still have some allegiance with the elves. Every king is given an Elven bride to seal the pact. A dark man arose in the chaos and united the kingdom of Sanglant as a powerful force to be reckoned with.
He has begun collecting all different types of magical creatures, because he, who controls the magic, controls the world. However, his most prized consideration would be the acquirement of the elves, beings of mighty magic and of the dragon riders. Since the dawn of time, the elves have been considered to be one of the prime races; being the most beautiful, intelligent and magically learned race. But they've also been the most secretive.
The King of Sanglant, has now, for a while, claimed that the Elves are simply greedy creatures who refuse to share their power and knowledge. After all, they have the key to cease the suffering of many people and the secret to immortality. However, it is the powerful king’s own greed that pushes him to seek out the elves, and all other magical beings. He has already begun to mass together the sorcerers, and all those who show any potential for magic. All those who refused his offer to join his army died.
The Dwarves, the sorcerers and many humans agree with the King, creating pacts with him to serve him if war were to come, each for their own reasons. The Sorcerers, greedy for more power, the Dwarves, due to their deep-rooted enmity against the elves and the humans.
Other humans, and beings of magic; like Witches and Druids, oppose the King of Sanglant. They back the elves if war were to befall; for they are also in danger of captivity if the elves are to fail. All those with magical powers who resist the King’s call will die.
Many, however, are yet undecided. The Dragon Riders watch from afar, while many seek to buy their allegiance.
But time has come to choose. The King, in his first phase of attack, has declared war on Samarid, for the Samaridians have a pact with the elves; that if one of their colonies is attacked, the other will aid in protection
Will the elves back down from their word or will they come out of their hidden lands, and fight for their rights to keeping control over their magic and lives?Great armies are gathering and the shadows of magic clash by night. This is only the beginning.
