Henry sat on the window sill, watching the comings and goings of various servants and nobleman in the palace courtyard located below his window. He had always enjoyed doing this as he felt as though he was watching another person's life unfold infront of him without them knowing. Watching people through his window had also taught him vital lessons in reading the body language of the people around him. He saw how his father's body language became more relaxed around his younger brother. He knew that Andrew was under less stress than himself because he was not crowned prince, but that didn't make Henry less jealous of him. It just made him spiteful about the fact that he had been born before Andrew.
"Your Majesty" came a fimiliar voice from behind the prince and he turned to see his servant standing with a look of aprehension on his face. The servant were never sure of how the prince was going to act, some days he acted rather decent while other days he was just as cold and arrogant as his father. "Yes?" Henry asked, curious about the reason for his servant disturbing him at this time of the day. "His highness, your father would like to see you." the young servant said, carefully avoiding eye contact with the prince. It forbidden that any servants make eye contact with any members of the royal family.
Henry stood up and nodded at the servant, dismissing him. At ten years old, the prince was already able to imitate his father's dismissive nod. He walked out his chambers and groaned as Andrew came hurtling towards him. The last thing he wanted was to be bothered by his younger brother. "What you doing? I heard that some bandits were arrested, do you know anything about it?" a stream of words came out of the young child's mouth as he bounced alonside his older brother. "I'm going to see father and I haven't heard anything about bandits" the young boy said exasperated by his younger brother. "Besides shouldn't you be with your nurse?" he asked raising an eyebrow at his younger brother. Andrew kept on bouncing next to him. "No, well yes, but I don't like her she's boring" he said in a whining voice that grated Henry's nerves. "I don't care, you better go back before you get in trouble" he said, knowing that not even Andrew would go unpunished for running around the palace, unsupervised at such a young age. Andrew pulled a face before turning and running in the direction of his chambers.
Henry let out a sigh of relief, finally he was rid of the brat. He had never been fond of Andrew and he seemed to become more and more irritating the older he got. He had recently taken to following him around everywhere and had a habit of getting in the way. He took a deep breath and compossed himself before he entered his father's chambers. "You asked to see me father?" he asked as he entered the expansive chambers that his father inhabited. "Ahh, yes son, I want you to join a patrol of the city with me. It's about time you started doing more patrols with me" the king said almost dismissively to his son. "Of coarse" the young prince said, knowing that it would be dangerous for him to disagree with his father.
