Darian carefully bound his wounds with speed and accuracy. These sort of severe wounds were not stranger to him. After all, Alistair seemed to have a way of getting him into dangerous trouble with his lack of regard for their life. At least here they were safe for now. It didn't take long for Darian to finish binding his injuries.
This curse had plauged him his entire life, and it seemed that it would never get any easier. He could never have a home, friends, or a normal life. Not even a lover. Darian gritted his teeth angrily. Would Alistair never give him peace? Allow him to stay in one place without hurting anyone? But no, Darian was forced to wander.
He had been given the name "The Wandering Knight". It was name that stuck fear into most. It was not Darian that posed a threat to any of them. It was Alistair. But that meant Darian wasn't welcome either, for one could not be without the other.
The man's intense, aquatic blue eyes glinted in annoyance as he thought about his ordeal. It's not so bad, said a soft, smooth voice in his head. For if one ccannot be without the other, neither can ever be alone. Darian scowled. "I'd rather be alone than with you," he snapped out loud. His voice was tough and deep, but kind even in his anger.
Oh Darian, that hurts, the smooth voice responded calmly. Now I don't want to be with you either. Too bad. We're stuck together until you figure out how to break this curse. Darian scowled agrily. "Me?" He cried out angrily. "What is it only up to me? You should be helping too! But Darian, if you find out how to break the curse, I disappear. Why would I want to break the curse? Darian growled to himself angrily. Alistair had a point.
A sudden noise made Darian look around with narrowed eyes. "Who's there?" he called out aggresively in case it was some sort of thief or bandit. Slowly, the man drew his sword from its shieth and held it at the ready.

Walking out a young elven female stood there when Darian asked who's there. She had no weapon in her hands as she walked from behind the tree. She looked at Darian and was curious about him. She held a gaze upon him that spoke of wisdom and grace. She didn't know what he had done to be cursed but from the sound of his frustrated half said conversation. She smiled softly and coy like as she tilted her head and said in a soft elegant voice, "I am who is there, but from what i have barely heard you are not all that stands there," she smiled softly as she watched the man before her holding the sword.
She stood there in a black cloak upon a red dress that was only secured around her neck and were it not for the cloak her back and arms would be bare to the world. She held her hands delicately before her as she waited for him to say something. She didn't know what had brought her feet to this place but she was glad she had found someone to trade words with as she had been going into a state where if she hadn't of spoken to someone she would seem to have fallen ill and into a delusion and spoken to the wind as the man before her had.
"Might i ask the name of the man who holds the sword currently? I do not wish to be left in the dark for my name will come in time, I have not abandoned my manners when i took this walk from my home" she said softly as she looked up through her lashes and felt her hair brush over her shoulders as a gentle breeze came and stirred the silent and still air about them.

Darian watched as a beautiful elf woman stepped out into the open. He held his sword steady for a minute before dropping it to his side. The woman was unarmed, and if magic ended up being her weapon then Darian didn't have much defense right now. The man ran a hand tiredly through his hair and sat back down. "So you are," the man answered in a tired and wary voice. He didn't bother commenting on the rest of her statement. Talking about his curse was something he wasn't currently interested in.
Darian couldn't help but wonder what the elven woman was doing here. It was the early day and far from the area where the elven city was rumored to be located. Few elves usually came around this area. It was full of thieves and other scum. Not to mention she'd heard Darian speaking to Alistair, which must have looked aweful strange due to the fact that both occupied the same body. Darian grit his teeth slightly, angry he'd not been more careful.
"You may call me Darian," the knight said with a polite nod to the head. He might have stood once more to bow if he was not so soar. Oh Darian, Darian, said a calm, cool voice in his head. Do you so easily give out your name? How foolish. Darian looked to the side and scowled slightly. He could not talk back to his counterpart with this woman around. "What should I call you miss? And if I might ask, why is a lovely elf such as yourself out here?"

Anita smiled as he dropped the sword to his side, She didn't want to end up in a fight not this early in the day. She looked at him as he said "So you are," Taking a moment to smile as he ran a hand through his hair she thought that he sounded tired and wondered if being one to many people was that tiring. She smiled as she got the one that was before her's name.
She saw his face scowl and smiled as she said "Don't have to remain quiet to whomever is taunting you i don't mind, i know its the nature of things when one is not the only one who has the body," she said as she smiled softly, She then heard his next question "What should I call you miss? And if I might ask, why is a lovely elf such as yourself out here?"
After he asked the question she nodded and said "you may call me Ani, for now, you shall earn my proper name in time," and took a minute to think of how to phrase what she was doing here. I am just on a walk, i left my home for the week so as to get fresh air and clear my mind of old thoughts, its quite a relief one might say to be able to see things in a new light with something as simple as a week from home she said as she smiled and adjusted her cloak. She wanted to just toss it aside and be rid of it at times but she knew she needed it when night came.
Looking at Darian she wondered how he had come to be cursed but had a feeling that was something she would have to figure out on her own. She took a deep breath as she relaxed and shifted how she stood. It is my turn to pose a question to you, what brings you out here so far from the comforts of town or other human companionship?

Darian coughed heavily before offering the woman a kind smile. "I don't know of what you speak," he said casually. She could try as much as she wanted to find out what he was, but he wasn't going to help her. Aw Darian. Why do you hide me? If Alistair was another person, Darian would have kicked him. His alternate self was childish whenever he wasn't in control. It was quite annoying.
"Ani, huh?" the man repeated a little gruffly. It was a nice name, but clearly not a full name. That however didn't bother the man much. He knew that elves did not often give out their real name to anyone. It had something to do with the elven names having more power than human names. "A long way to walk," Darian pointed out, though he didn't bother to pry futher. It was none of his business. "Well Ani, you are welcome to rest here if you wish. I will not harm you."
Darian laughed gruffly at the woman's question and smiled. "Miss, I am a traveler," he explained simply. "A wandering knight, if you will. I have no sworn alligance so I travel to where I am needed. Do not take my being out here as something strange. It is quite common for men of my trade to travel so." The knight bowed his head politely before setting off to work again. He pulled out some left over meat from a few days before and got to work setting it above the fire to cook.

Not when you were visiting nearby before you walked here," she said as she smiled at his words about a long walk. She was grateful when he said she could rest with him. She smiled and undid her cloak and laid it out and settled down on it gracefully. She was curious to know more about him and the places he traveled if he didn't mind telling her. Though she was an elf and probably older then him by far she had only gotten out a few times every 20 years or so because of her father and brother but now she was allowed to travel more as her magic was more developed.
Anita was worried as she sighed and listened to how he said that he was a wandering knight. "So that means you have been able to travel just about anywhere you wished, any interesting tales you wish to share with a eager listener?" she asked as she took a second and drew her knees to her chest. She didn't know what to expect and seemed like a child ready to listen to an elder's story at this moment.
Anita loved stories as it gave her a chance to imagine what was happening as the story was told as well as later on make illusions so that they could be experienced. She smiled and wondered how much details she would get, would she get enough to replicate it accurately or just to give a vague impression.

Darian smiled. No, I suppose its not too far when you're visiting nearby," he agreed happily. Though Darian had his issues when it came to Alistair, he was actually quite a friendly person. He was the good side of himself, and Alistair was the bad. When he finally broke the curse, neither of the would exist as they did now. But living as one person had to be better than only getting to live every other day, and always having that other presence lingering.
"Interesting tales," Darian mused lightly as he thought. "I suppose I might have a few. Though my life is hardly exciting. See, I am a wandering knight on a journy. I'm looking for something and that rather occupies more of my time than adventures do." Darian scratched his chin thoughtfully. It was rough with stubble, so scratching it only made it itch.
Darian ran a hand thought his hair thoughtfully. "Now I'm no story teller, but I suppose I'll try. This particular event took place years ago. Not long after I earned my knight hood. I'd traveled to a far away country, you see. They spoke a language I was not familiar with, so I had a friend who translated and taught me some of the language. Anyway, it just so happened that my first task as a knight was given to me there." Darian paused to rub a hand through his hair.
"There was a powerful old Lord in the country who one day called on me, hoping for my help. You see, a rouge dragon had been terrorizing his lands, burning crops and homes and eating the cattle and sheep. The Lord was in quite a spot. He was to old to ride out to confront the dragon himself, so he sent me in his stead. The beast was humongus. Not like the dragons that are bonded with the dragon riders. It was farm more vicious and humongus. The size of a mountain.
"Myself and a company of a hundred soldiers rode out to meet the creature before it returned to the villages. The men were terrified. By the time I had arrived, only twenty of the soldiers remained." Darian remembered the day well. He himself had been horrified at the thought of facing the beast, but he'd already promised the Lord that he would.

Anita was shocked at the story, a dragon being so cruel she hadn't thought one could be like that but then again they were wild creatures. Taking a second to look at Darian she saw how he wore his guilt and felt sorry he had to endure this.
She wondered if she could help him at all with that but she sighed as she looked down at her own hands. So many things could go wrong while she helped one person, so many things could rest on him having this guilt.
She would just listen and see the outcome if he was able to finish the story. She was curious to know more but wouldn't say so. She let him take his time as she knew she would have to leave his company in time so she wanted to remember what he shared so that she didn't have to feel like the world was wrong to make such a handsome man so troubled. She knew there was a reason for it and she would let it play out.
Anita shook her head without seeming to shake her head. She didnt want to seem rude to him. She took a second and looked up at him holding a look that said please continue when your ready. She was not sure what he would say next but she felt sorry for the men that had lost their lives on the way to meet the dragon.

Darian paused a moment, recalling the event. The poor villagers of the kingdom had really been in trouble. It was lucky he'd come along because everyone else had refused the task. But Darian, being the one who could not refuse a plea for help, of course had said yes as soon as he'd been asked. The man coughed, clearing his throat before continuing. A hand scratched his chin that was still itching from the last time he'd scratched it.
"Where was I... Oh yes. Well we approached the cave of the great dragon. I led my men in cautiously. I had decided that a battle inside the cave would be more of an advantage than a disadvantage. It may have left us with little room to fight, but it restricted a great dragon far more than it restricted us. I left half my men at the entrance as renforcements. That means only ten of us ventured in to battle the rouge dragon.
"Well, as we got deeper into the cave, I could hear a strange noise echoing around the cave. It was the dragon. It almost sounded like it was crying. I told my men to stay back and ventured forward myself. With my torch, I was just able to make out the monterous dragon, curled up in what I assumed to be its nest.
'Great dragon!' I called to the beast. 'Why do you weap?' Much to my surprise, the ancient creature answered in a soft, feminane voice. 'Humans, why do you plauge me?' it asked on a sad voice. 'Have you not already taken that which was my pride an joy? Must you take my life too?' I felt terribly confused then you know. I was not aware that dragons had their own posessions. 'Great dragon,' I responded to the beast. 'What has been taken that is yours?' 'My egg has been taken from me human. It cannot survive without my fire.'
Now at this point, I became enraged. I turned back to my men and ordered them to return to the king and tell him why the dragon had been terrorizing the villages. I commanded them to leave without me. They did as I asked, glad to leave the dragon. 'Dragon, I will help you search for your egg.' I told the beast once they'd left." Here, Darian paused again and grinned. He remembered how surpised the dragon had been.
"So the beast and I set off together. 'Count yourself lucky human,' she told me. 'Not many of your kind get to ride a dragon without first bonding. The chance will not come again.' I soon learned her name was Uthenera. She was quite a beast. A dragon of ancient times. Mind you, I did as I promised. I found her egg. A poor farmer had stolen it and been trying to sell it. Uthenera quickly...convinced him to take it back." Darian laughed good humoredly and smiled at the woman.

Anita was surprised and smiled. "A rare gift indeed. So once united with her egg again i take it the dragon was quite happy to leave the village alone?" she questioned as she shifted and watched Darian and wondered what it had felt like to be upon a dragon while it flew. She wondered what it would be like to experiance what few ever did.
She didn't ask these questions though as she waited for the responce to her first question. She didn't want to seem like a child having just heard a ledgen for the first time in their lives. She knew she had to quell her curiousity as it would possibly get herself into trouble. She just sighed and relaxed a bit but never fully as she knew not how often darian fell to the role of observer to the one she had no name for yet.
With a simple glance to the sky she knew she would have to either leave or rest here with him for the night. She had a choice leave his company before her questions were answered or to stay and hopefully get the chance to figure out the answers to the questions she could not ask as he was so protective of the information.

Darian gave a crooked grin. It had been the experience of a lifetime, but he'd honestly never want to do it again. He had never been much of a sport for heights. "Quite," the man agreed with the elven woman. "The dragon took her egg and the king did not hear of any trouble from her again. I think she intended to leave the country, but I don't know where she wandered off too." Darian recalled happily when the dragon had left. The ancient creature had seemed much more beautiful once she'd gotten her egg back, though still terrifying.
The man blinked as he drew himself away from the memory. "You sicken me," Alistair commented shortly. Darian ignored him again. "What about you miss?" he asked the woman, turning the conversation around. "What's your story? He did not mean to ask her for a tale as she had him, but simply wanted to learn more about her while she still liked him.
As the woman glanced up, so did Darian. The sun was sinking as the bright blue sky began to fade. He knew now that this woman would have to leave soon, or else stay here. If she chose to stay, that meant Darian would have to leave during the night. He would not subject her to Alistair's company. Are you so ashamed of me Darian? Alistair pouted. Fear would be a better word, Darian scowled inwardly without showing any signs of his inward struggle for power.
