Walking down the street looking around Isoldé smiled as she tightened her ponytail as she looked at the children running to and from. She started to hum as she walked around with a grace that talked of grace from many years of hard work. Isoldé walked down to the market and got some fruit to share with the children as she went to the fountain. It was one of her two trips where she would tell them a story.
Taking a deep breath she sat down upon the edge of the fountain and saw all the eager eyes upon her. "Well little ones where were we last time?" she asked
"The Dragon was watching over the rider," said one child eagerly.
Smiling Isoldé nodded and said "Well as the dragon watched over the Rider the elf slowly started to heal the wounds that had been inflicted upon him," she said as she continued a story for the children as they wanted to know of the first elven Rider.

Home...
Alana had not been home in a while. How she missed the familiar sights and sounds of the elven city. There was one thing however, that she did not miss. Alana did not plan to return home to her family. Hopefully, they wouldn't even see that she had come. Then again, when she came with a dragon, how likely was that?
Traz's huge wings beat against the air as they soared in circles above the clouds. Alana was gathering herself before they decended to her home. You are different from usual, he commented. What is it about this place that makes you change so?
Alana scowled slightly. Let's just say I love the city, but I'm not too eager to see who's here, she said darkly. Traz's body vibrated slightly as he gave a growling chuckle. Your family certainly unnerves you, he answered. Alana gritted her teeth slightly, but niether of them spoke again.
After several more minutes, Alana and Traz agreed it was time to enter the city. The great black dragon folded his wings against his body and pointed himself nose down. Alana clinged to the dragon so that she wouldn't fall on in the sudden, violent dive. The were aimed straight at the ground. Just before they hit and sort of house or tree, Traz streched out his wings, pulling himself to a slow, casual glide. They landed easily in an open area with a fountain. Alana sat up and looked around.
"You majesty," Alana said in surpise as she spotted who was seated on the fountain. "I appologize if I've interupted your err..." The woman's voice faded. She didn't know what the queen was doing surrounded by children, but she had a feeling she'd been quite the interuption.

Isoldé looked up as the children huddled closer to her. She smiled and motioned for Alana to come sit. "Welcome home Rider Alana, I was just telling the legend of the first rider to the children," she said as she smiled. "Care to join us and it will allow your dragon time to laze around and take a sip from the fountain if he wishes" she said smiling.
The children looked at the dragon in awe and their eyes sparkling with interest and curiosity. Isoldé looked at the children and laughed at how eager they were to examine the dragon if allowed to. Isoldé was curious what had brought the dragon rider home. She didn't want to pry but did invite the Rider to come and sit with them.

Alana stared down at the queen for a moment. Sitting around listening to a children's story was not what she had in mind for the day. She had thought that she might go find someone to train with. But it was not exactlly in Alana to refuse her queen. Though she did not live here any longer, Alana still felt loyalty toward her elven heritage, and to her queen.
What do you think Traz? Alana asked the dragon in her mind. The large black dragon settled down, and reached out toward the fountain with his muzzle. I could use a rest, he answered lazily as he began to drink from the fountain. What do you think of these children? Alana questioned, knowing that the children might want to go see the dragon for themselves. Let the come, Traz sighed into Alana's mind. So long as they do not disturbe my nap.
Alana slid down from the dragon's back and bowed to the queen. "Thank you," Alana said as she stood up straight and proud once more. "I would be happy to join you." The rider strode and seated herself on the edge of the fountain, half way between her dragon and the queen. "You can touch him," Alana told the children. "Just don't disturb him. Don't want him to bite now do we?" The woman secretly enjoyed the small tease. She knew Traz would not bite the children without her say so, and Alana certainly wasn't going to let him.

Isoldé Smiled as the Rider said the children could go look at the dragon. She nodded to them and they all swarmed around the dragon gently petting his folded wings and feeling his scales. She smiled as she looked at the Rider and said "This was a wonderful timing for you to return home Rider, The children were curious about the dragons and what they actually felt like," she smiled and relaxed and made sure her hair was pulled back tightly.
"It must be wonderful to have a child's outlook on the world, Nothing can be evil or wrong, Need someone to talk to rider or just returning home for the fun of it?" she asked gently with a smile. She wanted her people to be happy but for their happiness she lost the chance to do what she wanted, to find love and start a family. She didn't mind as long as her people were safe.
Isoldé watched the children think about it and a few of them got bowls from their homes which were right there in the square. A few of them got water and some had cloths and washed the dragons wings happily. Seems your dragon came to the right group they want to make him comfortable and wash the dust and travel from his wings," she said laughter in her words.

Alana gave a sort of crooked smile to the queen. "Quite fortunate indeed," she said in a happy tone. Not, she added silently to Traz. The dragon snorted slightly, amused. Smoke billowed out his nose as he did, though his eyed did not open at all.
"But children can often be quite evil themselves," Alana pointed out. "Children are easily influenced. And they get upset over stupid things. Especially human children." Alana laughed shortly. She'd seen children whine about the stupidest things. How silly they were. "I just missed home I suppose," Alana explained with a shrug. "I presently don't have anything else to do. Just waiting for whatever comes around the corner."
Alana laughed slightly. Traz didn't quite know whether to be annoyed, flattered or simply uncaring. He usually was not fond of contact. "He's not sure to be annoyed that he's getting a bath during his nap or happy that he'll be clean for once," Alana told the queen, amused. Shut up, Traz growled into the woman's mind. "He's not often pampered," Alana continued, as if Traz had not spoken to her.

Isoldé smiled and said "For the most part children when uninfluenced they are the sweetest things in the world," She said as she took a deep breath and leaned back on her hands holding onto the edge of the fountain she was sitting on. She smiled at how Alana talked about her dragon partner. She wasn't sure what to think as she didn't know anything about dragons and their connection to the riders. She took a minute and stood up and asked "Want to go for a walk Rider Alana?" She stood there and let her hands clasp before her and her sleeves fall over them.
She took a deep breath she wanted to know what Alana had been up to lately she hardly ever came home and so she couldn't get reports about the outside world as often as she wished. She had everyone on a report once they returned home. She needed to know how things were progressing outside the hidden elven lands. She didn't know what to think as she didn't get to leave often enough to learn what the aspect of the impending war was heading towards. She didn't want to end up having to draw her people into a war if there was a peaceful solution.

Alana shrugged. It might be true, but she viewed children as she viewed any other sort of human, except for that they were more easily influenced. She touched a finger to the water and twirled it around as Isolde asked her a question. Well traz? she asked the dragon silently before doing anything. Go ahead, he responded, sighing heavily. Just don't expect me to stay here. "Sure," Alana answered the queen, standing.
"Something wrong you highness?" Alana asked the slightly burdened looking queen. The queen rather looked like she was disappointed Alana was not the most talkative. Alana had never been particularly talktative, but if it was news the queen was looking for, Alana was definately not the place to search. As an assassin, people may expect her to know a lot, but she did her job no questions asked. It wasn't her business to know why someone wanted someone else dead. It was her job to kill them. But of course, the queen would not know that. The queen hopefully did not know she was an assassin at all.
